Help keep your flock’s drinking water available through freezing weather with this 12-inch red chicken waterer heater plate. The 48W thermostatically controlled base works with compatible plastic or metal poultry drinkers and operates from the supplied low-voltage 24V DC adapter.

Reliable Winter Water for Backyard Poultry

Place a compatible poultry drinker directly on the level heater plate to transfer gentle warmth toward the bottom of the container. The bright red, weather-resistant PP plastic housing is easy to spot in a coop or covered run and is designed for chickens, ducks, turkeys, game birds, and other poultry.

The heater is intended to help prevent water from freezing, not to thaw a large container of solid ice. Product packaging rates performance to approximately -20°F (-29°C) under suitable conditions. Actual performance varies with wind, shelter, drinker size and material, water volume, placement, and ambient temperature, so check your flock’s water daily during severe weather.

48W Thermostatically Controlled Heating

The plate uses 48 watts of power and a 24V DC, 2A adapter. Thermostatic control helps regulate heating while the low-voltage connection supplies power to the plate. Allow up to approximately 15 minutes for the unit to warm after it is connected.

Works with Plastic and Metal Poultry Drinkers

The 12-inch round surface accommodates compatible poultry drinkers made from plastic or galvanized metal. Center the drinker on the plate and confirm that it is stable before connecting power. The poultry drinker shown in some photographs is for demonstration and is not included.

How to Set Up the Drinker Heater Plate

  1. Choose a sheltered location. Use the plate indoors or in a covered outdoor run where the heater, adapter, and every electrical connection will remain dry.
  2. Prepare a stable surface. Set the plate on a raised, flat, firm surface with the feet facing down. Keep loose bedding and combustible material away from the heater and cord.
  3. Connect the supplied adapter. Attach the heater lead to the supplied 24V DC, 2A power adapter, then position the adapter and connection where poultry cannot reach them.
  4. Center the drinker. Place a compatible plastic or metal poultry drinker on the plate without pinching the cord.
  5. Plug in and monitor. Connect the adapter to a properly installed outlet, allow the plate to warm, and continue checking the water supply and installation daily.
