These packets are made specifically for the FlyBuster Garden trap. They are not sized for the Compact or Commercial FlyBuster models. The reusable trap is sold separately.
Refills for the FlyBuster Garden Trap
Water activates the yeast-based bait and begins a fermentation process that produces the strong odor used to attract flies toward the trap. The bait works inside the reusable container rather than being sprayed around the coop, barn or garden. Because the activated bait has a pungent odor, the trap and refill are intended for outdoor use only.
How to Refill and Activate the Trap
- Empty the used Garden trap according to the product directions and local disposal requirements.
- Thoroughly clean the container before adding fresh bait.
- Pour one entire 50 g Garden refill packet into the trap.
- Current manufacturer guidance calls for adding 32 oz of water. If the directions supplied with your trap or refill differ, follow the current package directions.
- Close the trap securely, gently swirl to mix, and keep it closed for 48 hours while the bait activates. After activation, open or position the entry lid exactly as directed.
Do not divide a packet between traps or substitute a Compact or Commercial refill. Using the packet intended for the Garden model provides the measured bait quantity for that container.
Outdoor Placement and Use
FlyBuster currently recommends positioning the prepared trap about 20 feet from the building or area being protected and approximately 5 feet above the ground. Place it away from the chicken coop interior, doors, patios, walkways, feed storage and other frequently occupied areas so the attractant draws flies away from those spaces.
Hang or support the container securely where chickens, pets, children and wildlife cannot tip or disturb it. Check the trap regularly and service it when required by the directions, when it becomes full or when performance declines. Results and service time vary with temperature, weather, fly pressure, placement and how quickly the trap fills.
