Note: When you first install your Coop Defender, it is in the open position. After attaching the door to the string and programming the unit, if you need to adjust the open position, press and hold UP arrow to desired position.
The door will only open in the morning hours range 00:00-11:59, and close in afternoon hours range 12:00 – 23:59. If you’d like to test that the door will open and close, simply choose operating mode Light – Light, hold your hand over the sensor to simulate darkness, the door will close. Remove your hand, and the door will open.
HELPFUL TIP: Operating mode Light – Light is preferred as it will not need to be adjusted for daylight savings time changes like using the Timer requires. Unless you are mounting the opener inside the coop, then Timer will be required.
