What Is Included in This Baby Chick Brooder Kit?
This starter bundle brings together three supplies for a chick brooder. It does not include the brooder enclosure or every supply needed to raise chicks.
- 12 × 12-inch chick brooder heating plate with anti-roost cover
- 1 kg seven-hole feeder and 1 L drinker set
- Sav-A-Chick® Combo Pack
What You Need Separately
Supply a secure, appropriately sized brooder enclosure, suitable bedding, and chick starter feed. None is included in this kit. A brooder thermometer is also useful and is not included. Hemp chicken coop bedding is one bedding option. How to Set Up the Kit
- Prepare the enclosure before chicks arrive, with enough room for them to move away from the heat plate.
- Install the heating plate at a height appropriate for your chicks, following its instructions. Observe chick behavior and adjust the setup as needed.
- Position the feeder and drinker where chicks can reach them, and keep feed and water fresh. Use the Sav-A-Chick products according to their package directions.
Understanding the Heating Plate Capacity
The heating plate product is listed for approximately 20–25 chicks, depending on chick size and conditions. That figure applies to the plate, not to the enclosure, feeder, drinker, or entire brooder setup. Allow more space as chicks grow and choose equipment that suits your flock.
