Chicken Pens, Cages & Carriers

Chicken pens, cages, and carriers help with short-term flock management, including transport, temporary separation, veterinary visits, and moving birds between secure areas. Choose equipment with enough room for the number and size of birds, reliable closures, good airflow, and a surface that can be cleaned between uses. A carrier should keep hens contained without forcing them into an awkward posture. For car travel, stabilize the carrier on a level surface and avoid direct sun or strong airflow. Never leave birds unattended in a parked vehicle, where the temperature can change quickly. Portable carriers and temporary pens are not substitutes for a properly sized coop and run.
